Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNVs) are co-educational residential schools established by the Government of India to provide quality education to talented rural children across the country. For the academic session 2026–27, JNVs continue their commitment to promoting national integration and excellence in education by offering completely free schooling, including boarding, lodging, textbooks, and uniforms, from Class 6 to Class 12. Admission is granted through the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2026, conducted for Class 6 and Class 9. For Class 6, the selection test includes Mental Ability, Arithmetic, and Language, while for Class 9 (lateral entry), the exam covers English, Hindi, Mathematics, and Science. Selection is purely merit-based, ensuring equal educational opportunities for talented students, especially from rural areas, under the CBSE curriculum in a fully residential environment.
